The UW-Green Bay Advancement team invites you to join them in their continuing success in transforming the University through philanthropic investments contributed by passionate donors. Join the team as the Annual Giving Manager with primary responsibility for furthering donor engagement through one-on-one visits, direct mail, and digital appeal campaigns. This leadership position offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students who seek higher education to be the best they can be. The Advancement team had its most successful year ever in 2022, securing over $13 million in gift commitments. 

The Annual Giving Manager: identifies and cultivates relationships with donor prospects making annual and scholarship gifts; develops and implements direct mail appeals and digital campaigns; coordinates important special events that engage alumni and friends at University theater performances, sporting events, and academic lectures; and assists others in meeting deadlines for gift proposal and grant submissions.

Professional development opportunities are accessible through the Education Advisory Board (EAB). Any of the four campus locations, Green Bay, Manitowoc, Marinette, or Sheboygan, can serve as your day-to-day office.

What You'll Do

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development of strategic planning initiatives and objectives, program budgets, and monitors activity to ensure adherence to established guidelines for annual giving for 40,000+ alumni and friends of the University. Meet or exceed annual performance goals and expectations, including: Number of personal visits; number of gifts solicited and received; dollar amounts solicited and received; number of new prospects visited and qualified. Maintains the calendar of annual deadlines for a variety of donor constituencies.
  • Attends to scholarship interface with donors and in coordination with the donor relations manager and Foundation accountant to seamlessly operate a strong scholarship program. A special focus is on scholarship donor contact.
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for event and program activities, facilities, participants, and vendors adhering to established timelines and expectations for Advancement events.
  • In coordination with the communications manager, executes a strategic direct mail program.
  • In coordination with the VC for Advancement, develops and protects the brand for the Fund for Excellence. Coordinates related annual fund activity for general funds designated for the additional locations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree at time of application 
  • 3 years experience in development, donor relations, special event, or equivalent sales experience
  • Working knowledge of desktop hardware and standard business software programs (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, database) and the Internet
  • Excellent presentation skills; demonstrated track record of proactive 1-1 sales experience
  • Knowledge of charitable giving options

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree
  • Raiser's Edge database experience

Conditions of Appointment

Travel required to all four campuses. The selected candidate can work out of any of the four campuses, so home campus will be determined at time of hire.

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment.  This position may have the option to work on-campus or a hybrid schedule subject to approved telecommuting request.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Compensation and Benefits

Salary of $55,000. 

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Benefit Details

The UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
