Essential Job Functions
This position reports to the Executive Regional Manager, Continuing Professional Education and delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget. Oversee event management from start to finish according to target audience and objectives. Educational programming focused on the areas of social services, nonprofits, financial planning, languages, community services and other areas.
What You'll Do
This position includes the following responsibilities:
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program.
- Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program.
- Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members.
- Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials.
- Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement.
- May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending.
- Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree at time of application
- A valid Wisconsin driver’s license and a working vehicle to travel between campuses
- Working knowledge of the computer, internet and standard business software programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Databases, etc.)
- Three years’ experience in programming, planning and event management
- Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
- The ability to plan and execute deadline-driven programs and projects with multiple stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, Oneida, or Somali
- Working knowledge of online registration systems
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to complete projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communication, Education or related field
- Experience working with Employee Training & Development
- Experience in higher education

Conditions of Appointment
Occasional night and/or weekend work. Travel is required for meetings, trainings, conferences and between campuses.
Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment. This position may have the option to work on-campus or a hybrid schedule subject to approved telecommuting request. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Compensation and Benefits
Minimum salary of $45,000.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Benefit Details
The UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.
In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
