Lakeshore Wind Ensemble Association

The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble Association (LWEA) was formed in 1987 to support LWE concerts by providing funds for guest soloists, concert operations, and scholarships to talented young musicians both in the LWE and attending university. The LWEA has taken on an active role in publicity and fund-raising for the LWE since its inception.

Concert Programs

The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble Association publishes a full-color concert program for each concert. Local businesses are invited to place ads to promote their business and help support the arts. If you or your business would like to place an ad in our concert program for the season, please contact Chris Burton, Advertising Sales Coordinator, at (920) 901-5633.

Scholarships & Awards

Thank you to our generous donors for aiding in the mission of the LWE which is to enrich the musical arts in the lakeshore community through scholarship programs, youth and community outreach and live performances. The LWEA has awarded over $87,000 in scholarships to student musicians since 1988!

The Arendt Family Talentship program annually recognizes undergraduate musicians that are members of the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble with a scholarship and is dependent on GPA and musical ability. The LWEA Young Artist Competition is held biennially and is a scholarship competition which encourages and promotes talented high school and college musicians. The Wesley Teply Community Service Award in the Arts serves to recognize people who have substantially contributed to the arts in the greater Manitowoc area. This award is presented annually.
