Children's Theatre

The University of Wisconsin Continuing Education and Extension offers opportunities for children ages 6-18 to participate in theatrical productions. Since 1993, such well known plays as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Charlotte's Web, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Into the Woods, Hansel and Gretel, and Beauty and the Beast have given children valuable experience in what it means to be part of a live, theatrical production. Children learn valuable stage and life skills such as teamwork, responsibility and confidence.

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each
other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael are not the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”
