Community theatre and arts at UW-Green Bay, Marinette is a dynamic performing and creative arts community committed to nurturing innovative minds. Creativity and the arts help children and teens in their well-rounded development.
Do you love painting but also love collage? Enjoy the combination in this 4-hour workshop for ages 10-15. Participants will create a mixed media painting on canvas using acrylic paint, followed by layering upcycled scrap materials and fibers. A variety of color mixing and painting techniques will be shared by the instructor during the workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring creative ideas for their paintings, such as a landscape, object or animal but this is not necessary. Everyone attending will receive a canvas and a variety of supplies to complete their creative mixed media painting. Sign up early. Only available for 18 participants.

Explore the world of fiber arts and soft sculpture in this 4-hour workshop for ages 10-15. Participants will learn the basics of weaving, felting, quilting and embroidery techniques that they can do at home using a few simple supplies, upcycled materials and a lot of creativity! Everyone will make some fun decorative and wearable soft works of art! Each participant will receive a fiber kit including instructional guide and resources along with a variety of materials to use in their soft art creations. This workshop is at capacity.
Brenda has been teaching in the Marinette School District for 26 years. She is a member of Wisconsin Art Education Association and also the National Art Education Association. When she is not teaching, she loves creating her own art, which includes mixed media painting, upcycled jewelry leather jewelry, pencil drawing, acrylic painting and pottery. She graduated from St. Norbert College with a degree in art education.
