Marinette Orgs

Classroom education is a priority in your career, but your learning experience does not stop there. Making time to become an active part of campus life will help you get the most out of your college experience.

Below is a listing of current clubs and organizations and the advisors you can contact to become involved. To begin a new club or organization, contact our Assistant Dean of Students.

Most campus groups have organizational meetings in the first few weeks of classes. Watch for advertisements around campus and plan to attend those early meetings. If you can't make it, leave a message for the group with Student Services. They will contact you.

Northern Lights Arts Journal

The Northern Lights Literary & Arts Journal features fiction, nonfiction, art, photography, and digital media by students, faculty/staff, and alumni from all four UW-Green Bay campuses. The journal is published annually each spring by students in ENG 224: Practicum in Literary Publishing: Northern Lights. Find print copies in all four UW-Green Bay campus libraries or visit the website: www.uwgb.edu/northern-lights-journal.

Phoenix Mentorship Program

Students of the Phoenix Mentorship Program have a mission to serve our community by partnering with local organizations (DAR Boys and Girls Club, for example). This program evolved from our service-learning project in First Year Seminar. UWGB-Marinette students will mentor children between seven to seventeen years of age in after school programming. This relationship will foster healthy relationships, provide a strong role model, and guidance to towards academic success, wellness, and healthy choices. These relationships will help reinforce a stronger community, workforce, and student body of the future.

Student Ambassadors

UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus Student Ambassadors represent the campus to the community. They lead campus tours for high school students during Preview Days and help with orientation and graduation. They also sponsor blood drives on campus. In the past Student Ambassadors have helped during the Christmas season with the Salvation Army and have participated in local parades. Student Ambassadors meet every other Friday during universal lunch hour. This is a great organization for community service and public relations experience.

Student Government

UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus has a student government and an all-campus meeting comprised of faculty, staff and students. This organization is responsible for the distribution of student segregated fees on the UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus. Student Senators are elected by the student body and serve on a variety of campus governing committees as well as the Student Governance Council for the state of Wisconsin and the United Council. Meetings are held every Wednesday during universal lunch hour.

Theatre on the Bay

Theatre on the Bay offers opportunities to UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus thespians in productions year-round. Watch for audition announcements. Students can work on-stage and back-stage alongside professional and community actors and technicians.

West Shore Chorale

The choir and orchestra consists of university students and community members. Students may take this course for credit as MUS ENS 261. The group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 pm in T-117 of the Fine Arts Building. There is one or two performances each semester.
