Chorale is the premier choral ensemble of the University. Membership is determined by a rigorous audition with an emphasis on sight-reading skills. The repertoire, drawn from a wide variety of periods and styles, is extremely challenging and requires a great deal of individual preparation.

An auditioned choral ensemble open to qualified students from all majors. The Concert Choir performs high quality repertoire drawn from a wide variety of periods and styles. Emphasis is placed on developing good choral tone, strengthening musical skills, and fostering a comprehensive understanding of the literature studied..

Chamber Singers is an auditioned select choral ensemble open to all students. Its repertory consists of music suitable for small chamber choirs, including Renaissance Madrigals, Chansons and Lieder, Romantic Part-songs, and selected music from other style periods.

Opera/Musical Theatre Workshop is designed for singing actors/actresses and is offered in the spring semester. In this performance class, the students prepare and present opera and musical theatre scenes and smaller-scale operas from standard operatic/musical theatre literature. Some of the recent performances included highlights from Cosi Fan Tutte, The Magic Flute by W.A. Mozart and a full production of Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell. It is open to any university student through audition.
