How do I register for a NEW Partnership training?

To register

In order to register for training sessions, please click on the button below to go to the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System (WCWPDS) website to access PDS Online. Once you reach the WCWPDS website, you will click on the “PDS Online Go” button in order to login and register for pre-service, foundation and special skills/topics training sessions.  Once you reach the PDS Online system, you will be able to search training sessions  by title or locator number.  A locator number is identified below for each training session to streamline your search process on PDS Online.  Complete instructions for logging in and registering for training sessions are available on the WCWPDS website via the button below.

How long are NEW Partnership trainings sessions?
Unless otherwise indicated all training days begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. with instruction from 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. We make every effort to ensure that training occurs as scheduled. We will notify you at the earliest possible time if there is a cancellation.

Is lunch included?
The general rule is if there is a training fee involved, NEW Partnership will provide lunch and snacks. If there is no fee, there are no banquet services provided through NEW Partnership. In that case, you might want to consider bringing your own coffee/soda/snacks, as well as your own lunch.

What is the registration fee?
Members of the NEW Partnership, and others that meet the reciprocity requirements, attend NEW Partnership training at a low or nominal fee (per Article 9 of the NEW Partnership By-Laws), currently set at $20 per day. Nonmembers pay the full daily training rate, currently calculated at $120 per day.

How do I know if I pay the Member or Non-Member rate?

Members - Partnership members include the staff who provide child welfare services in the 26 county departments of social/human services within the boundaries of the NEW Partnership region; the Social Work Professional Program at UW-Green Bay; and the Northern and Northeastern Regional Offices of DCF, as defined in Article 2 of the NEW Partnership By-Laws.

Reciprocity - Members of one of the other four training partnerships in Wisconsin (Western Wisconsin, Southern, Milwaukee, and Intertribal) as well as employees of DCF are granted reciprocity and pay the NEW Partnership daily member rate to attend training. (Reciprocity is defined in Article 9 of the NEW Partnership By-Laws.)

Non-members -All other individuals who attend NEW Partnership training are considered nonmembers and pay the daily non-membership training rate.

What if I need to cancel?
Log into PDS Online and withdraw from the training session you no longer wish to attend

Registrants, registered for a training session offered by NEW Partnership, who wish to no longer attend the session for which they are registered must cancel more than five (5) working days prior to the first day of the training in order to avoid fiscal penalties. Registrants who cancel more than five (5) days prior to a training session will be refunded the registration fee they or their agency paid for the cancelled training session.

Registrants who cancel five (5) or fewer working days prior to the first day of the training session will not be refunded the registration fee they or their agency paid for the session or will be billed for the registration fee if the NEW Partnership has not yet received the registration fee.

Registrants who transfer to another training session five (5) or fewer working days prior to the first day of the training session will be treated as a cancellation and the registrant remains responsible for paying the registration fee.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

No, you will not receive a certificate of attendance.

Social Workers are required under MPSW 19.05 to "retain for a minimum period of 4 years and shall make available to the board, or its agent upon request, documentation of publication or certificates of attendance issued by the program sponsor for all continuing education programs for which the credential holder claims credit for the purposes of renewal of the credential.”

It is the individual worker's responsibility to keep track of any training they receive while employed by the county agency and to provide proof of attendance to the Department of Safety and Professional Services in case of an audit. Workers should retain their training materials and training agendas which indicate date/time, location, and the trainer's name. NEW Partnership retains the original sign-in sheets should it become necessary to verify attendance for audit purposes.
