Overview

Course Evaluations

The Course Comments Questionnaire (CCQ) was the standard course evaluation at UW-Green Bay; faculty members had used the seven-question survey to evaluate their courses for more than 20 years.  While some campus units had adopted other means of evaluating their courses, the CCQ remained the predominant measure of course quality at UW-Green Bay for a long time.

In 2021, a Student Ratings of Instruction Plan was brought forward to Faculty Senate.  A working group made up of members from across the institution, in a variety of programs (both accredited and non-accredited), from the Additional Locations, and from all levels of instruction, had spent two years working on a new approach to evaluating teaching effectiveness.  A new online survey evaluating teaching effectiveness was put in place as a pilot for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022.  At the end of the year, data will be presented on how well the pilot went and where to go from there.  Students will be invited to take their course evaluations just prior to the end of each semester.
