Phoenix Studios internships are designed for UW-Green Bay students interested in gaining valuable experience on a podcast production team. Interns bring diverse skills, creativity and most importantly a willingness to learn and contribute to the success of their podcast. Phoenix Studios podcast topics currently include psychology (Psychology and Stuff), anger research (All the Rage) and Green Bay Athletics (PhlashCast), and there are plans to expand. The common thread is UW-Green Bay faculty and staff experts and students working together to record and publish engaging discussions relevant to their area of expertise, delivering a quality production to a community of dedicated listeners.

Podcast internships are determined by major and details will vary. Some may be project-based with the podcast season being the intern's “finished product” at the end of the semester. Others may prioritize a final paper outlining learnings and accomplishments. Typical 3-credit internships require 10 hours per week, however expectations will vary by intership appointment.

No technical skills are required. Anyone can be trained on how to set up a sound mixer. Preference is given to someone who works well with a team, can keep in touch with everyone and has good time management skills. Interest in different forms of narrative is a plus. Professionalism and desire to produce high-quality work is expected.

This is considered an internship for credits in the major. For now this opportunity is unpaid. Grant funding may be a possibility in the future, but has not yet been explored.
