"Impact of the 2008-2009 Recession on Minority-Owned U.S. Banks"

Grant in Aid of Research

Final Report: "I am submitting this summary report on how I spent my recent “GIAR” award of $400. The money was used to help cover costs of presenting a paper at the annual meeting of the Academy of Finance (AOF), in Chicago, IL, on March 1, 2013. The AOF presentations are held in conjunction with the “MBAA International Conference.” The 2013 conference program can be viewed at: http://www.mbaainternational.org/pdf/MBAA_2013_Program_Draft.pdf. I presented a paper entitled “Impact of the 2008-2009 Recession on Minority-Owned U.S. Banks,” which was co-authored with my UWGB colleagues Robert Nagy and Mussie Teclezion. The paper was abstracted in the Proceedings of the conference. The complete paper is attached to this e-mail. We intend to incorporate the comments we received at the AOF meeting in a revised version; then we’ll submit it for publication."
