Nina Powell

Nina Powell

Nina Powell is the MSW field coordinator and lecturer in the social work program. Nina is an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Wisconsin) with over fifteen years direct practice experience working as a social worker in a variety of settings. These include; residential, in-home therapy, emergency services, foster care, adoption, and child protection. Nina worked four years as an experiential group therapist with children and adolescents in a day treatment program. She also worked two years as a family therapist in an adolescent group home.

Nina’s interests include child welfare, expressive therapy, crisis intervention, mental health issues, and advocacy. She enjoys writing children’s books focused on therapeutic topics.
