A cancellation occurs BEFORE the start of the semester and it means you are not attending UWGB for the upcoming term. The cancellation process is slightly different for new freshman and new transfer students than it is for current students. Those steps are outlined below.

New Students (Freshman/Transfers): What you need to know before you cancel:

If you had FINANCIAL AID:
1. The financial aid office will be notified and your aid will be cancelled for the year.
2. Financial aid does not transfer. If you wish to be awarded financial aid at another college you must add that college’s school code to your FAFSA.

If you had HOUSING:
1. If you are cancelling your admission ON OR BEFORE May 1 and you submitted an academic term housing contract with a $225 advance deposit, Residence Life will be notified of your cancellation and you will be refunded $200 of your deposit ($25 is retained as an Administrative fee).
2. If you are cancelling admission AFTER May 1 and you have submitted an academic term housing contract with a $225 advance deposit, Residence life will be notified of your cancellation. The housing contract will be cancelled and your deposit will be forfeited as a contract termination fee.

If you paid for TUITION AND FEES, PASS POINTS, DINING, PARKING or BOOKS:

1. TUITION/FEES: You will receive a 100% refund in the original format of payment within 2 weeks.  Example:  if you paid by credit card, your credit card will be refunded.

2. PASS POINTS REFUND: You will receive a refund within 2-4 weeks by submitting the on-line form: http://www.uwgb.edu/union/forms/assets/pdf/passPointRefund.pdf. Contact University ID Services for questions at 920-465-2400. There is a $25 administrative fee.

3. DINING REFUNDS: You will receive a refund within 2-4 weeks. Contact University ID Services for questions at 920-465-2400.

4. PARKING DECAL REFUND: Take decal to parking office and fill out form to receive a refund within 2-4 weeks. Contact the Parking Office for questions at 920-465-2301.

5. BOOKS REFUND Stop by or call the bookstore at 920-465-2323 for return policy questions.

If you are ready to cancel:
Call 920-465-2111, or submit the official cancellation of admission form. If you wish to return at a later date, you will need to reapply for admission.

Current Students: What you need to know before you cancel:

If you had FINANCIAL AID:

1. The financial aid office will be notified and your aid will be cancelled for the year.
2. Financial aid does not transfer. If you wish to be awarded financial aid at another college you must add that college’s school code to your FAFSA.
3. Exit counseling paperwork for Perkins and Federal Direct Loans will be sent to you via USPS and must be completed. Even if you are attending elsewhere, you’re still exiting UWGB.
4. If you are not enrolling half-time elsewhere, repayment begins 9 months after last date of attendance for Perkins loans, and 6 months after last date of attendance for Federal Direct Loans.

If you had HOUSING:

1. See details on how to cancel your housing here.
2. Residence life will email you a response to your request. The request is not complete until you hear back from housing. If more than one week passes, you should call housing at 920-465-2040 to check on the status.

If you are ready to cancel:
You can drop all of your classes for the upcoming term in SIS before the term starts. If you are enrolled for future terms and not attending, drop those classes as well. If you have housing you must to cancel your housing here.
We encourage you to call 920-465-2657 or stop by Student Services (SS 1100) so we can review the above information with you and process your official cancellation request. If you wish to return at a later date, you will need to reapply for admission.  This process is also in effect for students who wish to take a semester off.
