On Campus Regular Employment
On Campus Employment is available to students carrying at least one UW-Green Bay credit per semester. There are many jobs on-campus that do not require a Federal Work Study award. These are labeled "On Campus Non-Work Study" in the PRO System. All duties, responsibilities and wage rates remain the same as a Federal Work Study job, but the source of funding is different. For On Campus Regular Employment, the hiring department is responsible for paying 100% of a student's wages (not the Federal Government).
The best selection of on-campus jobs is approximately July 1 through September 15. UW-Green Bay has December graduation and as a result, some jobs open up for the spring semester. If a student is unsuccessful in securing on-campus employment during the fall semester many jobs open up between December 1 and February 1.
On campus employers are encouraged to utilize PRO, but it is not the only way for them to advertise their open positions. Using PRO, jobs are posted at the request of individual departments. However, students can also monitor individual department websites, especially when seeking work within a major or field of study.
Jobs on campus can be found in many departments. They can last for one semester or for multiple years depending upon a student’s school schedule and/or the department's budget. All on-campus employment is at-will employment.
International students are permitted to work on campus only. They are not eligible for Federal Work Study and are encouraged to search jobs labeled "On Campus Non-Work Study" in the PRO System. They can search jobs using the same methods as other students, but are only permitted to work up to 20 hours per week during academic sessions and 40 during non-academic sessions.
