Meet The Instructors


Meet Abby, she is UREC's group fitness supervisor and she teaches aqua aerobics and dance fitness. She is a Social Work major with a minor in Human Development. Abby’s favorite part of being an instructor is meeting new people and showing people you can have fun while working out. In her free time she enjoys running, photography, and binge watching TV shows. Her favorite show is How I Met Your Mother.



Meet Alex, she is UREC’s fitness coordinator as well as a yoga instructor. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training this past June. Alex graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a degree in Health Promotion/Wellness. She enjoys water skiing, stand up paddle boarding, and listening to podcasts. Her guilty pleasure is to watch The Bachelor on Monday nights!

Billy Jo

Meet Billy Jo, she teaches Barre Sculpt. She is a Human Biology major with an emphasis in Nutritional Science and a minor in Dance. She says “barre doesn’t always mean Ballerina, barre means burn.” Dancing since the age of three,  Billy Jo began coaching other dancers and loved the idea of incorporating strengthening, toning, and flexibility into a fitness class using exercises she has learned over the years training in studio and on her own. In her free time she loves spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, writing, and being outdoors. 



Meet Craig, he teaches Cardio Blast. He is a Psychology major with a minor in Human Development. Craig loves to travel without a destination in mind, photograph sunrises and sunsets, and sweat anytime of day. He is also an avid runner, who will be participating in the Cellcom Marathon this May. His parents are the driving force behind his work ethic and passion for life.    


Darrell graduated with undergraduate degrees in both English and physical education while running cross country and track at Emporia State University. He earned a master’s degree in athletics administration from the University of Oregon. He teaches an aerobic drums class that emphasizes singing, dancing, drumming, and having fun. His  career at UW-Green Bay has included stints as a tutor/mentor in the athletics department, an adjunct instructor in composition, and his current position as an adjunct instructor in coaching and athletics administration in the education department. Marathon best time 0f 2:35:58.


Meet Elissa, she teaches Strength Circuits and is a human biology major with a double emphasis in exercise science and nutritional science as well as a psychology minor. Her favorite part about being an instructor is creating new workouts and having amazing and supportive co-workers. In her free time she enjoys running, photography, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets. An interesting fact about her is that she’s traveled to almost all 50 states in addition to Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, Jamaica, China, and the Grand Caymans. Her role model is her sister, a fellow Phoenix.



Meet Megan, she teaches sunrise yoga. She is a recent UWGB graduate and has her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. For fun she loves to run and participates in many races. You can never find her without coffee in hand and a smile.


Meet Michelle, she teaches Barre Sculpt! Her major is Business Administration with a minor in International Business and German. Last year she lived and studied in Germany and it was the best experience ever. She enjoyed getting to know people from all cultures around the world. She also enjoys calligraphy, photography, skiing, nutrition, science, music, Marvel movies & more.


Meet Natalie, she is UREC's lifeguard supervisor and teaches aqua aerobics. Natalie is a psychology major. She grew up in Southern California and enjoys being outside. Growing up she played water polo and swam competitively. Natalie's favorite food is sushi. 


Meet Noah, he teaches Body Sculpt. His favorite part about being an instructor is seeing participants grow mentally and physically. He’s currently majoring in Human Biology and some of his favorite activities include playing video games and watching movies. His favorite television show is One Tree Hill!

Sam B

Meet Sam, she teaches relaxation yoga.  Her plan as of right now is to double major in psychology and human biology.  In her free time, she enjoys writing, reading, and spending time with friends. She played volleyball and tennis in high school, and started getting interested in yoga.  She's excited to be able to help develop people's yoga skills and teach what she enjoys. Her guilty pleasure is playing the sims when she has the time.

Sam R

Meet Sam, she teaches body sculpt. She is a Human Biology major with and emphasis is Nutrition/Dietetics. Sam’s favorite part about being an instructor is helping others achieve their fitness goals and having fun while doing it. This past January she studied abroad in South Africa where she learned about human development, while volunteering and traveling throughout the country.


Meet Tyler, he is an environmental science major and teaches boot camp to all skill levels. Tyler’s favorite thing about being an instructor is being an outlet for others to de-stress. His two favorite past times are training in the gym and traveling to warm and new places. Two individuals that he considers his role models are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Nelson Mandela.
