Meet The Instructors


Abby is UREC's group fitness supervisor and teaches aqua aerobics. She's a social work major with a minor in human development. In her free time she enjoys photography, road trips, running, and watching Netflix. Her      favorite foods are pasta and coffee (not at the same time of course).



Alex is UREC’s fitness coordinator as well as a yoga and FIT instructor (200 hour registered yoga instructor). Alex graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a degree in Health Promotion/Wellness. She encourages everyone to try yoga because she was very hesitant of it at first and now it’s a huge part of her life! Alex loves boating and taking long walks were her husky Beau. She is also getting married this fall!

Billy Jo

Billy Jo is a Human Biology major with a double emphasis in Nutritional Science and Exercise Science, as well as a minor in Dance. Dancing since the age of 3, she loved the idea of incorporating exercises she has learned over her years of training into a fitness class. Billy Jo also coaches a variety of studio dance      classes, ages ranging from 3-18 at New Fusion Dance and Performing Arts. In her free time she loves spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, and being outdoors.



Darrell loves teaching a movement class because it reminds him how much fun movement can be. Class includes plenty of smiles and group interaction infused with high energy music, singing, and dancing. With more than 20 years experience as a disc jockey at clubs and radio stations, playing every genre of   music, he feels that each student in this class has an opportunity to really feel how important music can be. Movement drives him, and it can drive students as well. Let’s rock.


Elissa is a sophomore and teaches Strength Circuits. She is a human biology major with an emphasis in     nutritional science/dietetics. Outside of teaching and working out at the Kress, she enjoys photography, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets. Her role model has always been her older sister, a fellow Phoenix! Her favorite part of teaching is helping her students strive to be the best and strongest person they can be.


Meet Hanna from Kiel, WI. She is a junior pursuing an Art Education degree in hopes of becoming an elementary art educator. Aside from being an instructor, she works for the Kress Events Center Events staff. She is also a part of the university’s dance team and will celebrate her second year as a captain this season. Outside of the gym she enjoys kayaking, hiking, car rides, and having fun with friends. She’s so excited to be teaching sunrise yoga on Mondays and Wednesdays this fall!



Katelyn is a second year education major. She works for UREC at the front desk as well as a yoga instructor. In her life, she hopes to improve the education system in order to foster  better experiences for young students. Her hobbies include yoga, crafts, and petting cute dogs. 


Meet Kimberly, she teaches POUND. She became a certified POUND Pro in February of 2019. Kimberly graduated from UWGB with a masters degree in Social Work in May, and just received a job as a school social worker with the Green Bay Area Public School District. She enjoys traveling, camping, yoga, crafting, and spending time with family and friends. Kimberly's favorite sweet to eat and make is Peanut Butter Balls.


Kristy likes being a fitness instructor because she gets to share her love of dance with others. She has danced for 35 years and it has always brought her so much joy. She has been a Zumba instructor for the past 6 years at UWGB. Outside of fitness, she loves traveling and doing arts and crafts. She loves food from all over the world, but Mediterranean food is by far the best. A fun fact about Kristy is that she has traveled to more than twenty countries. She has lived in Cyprus, Scotland and Japan. Her unique talent in life is raising four kids. It is her      favorite and hardest job she’s have ever had.


Meet Noah, he teaches Body Sculpt and is studying Human Biology. His favorite thing about being a fitness instructor is helping participants accomplish personal goals. Outside of group fitness, some of his favorite things to do include playing video games and watching Netflix.

Sam B

Sam is a psychology major. She teaches sunrise yoga and is currently a sophomore. She’s been practicing yoga for almost three years but this will be her second year teaching it. In her free time she loves to hang out with friends and lives for going on adventures. Her guilty pleasure is playing either sims or minecraft on her computer.


Sam R

Sam teaches body sculpt and is a Human Biology major with a double emphasis in Exercise Science and        Nutrition/Dietetics. Her favorite thing about being an instructor is helping others reach their fitness goals and having fun while doing it. Something fun she did over the summer was having the opportunity to go skydiving with her dad for her 20th birthday!


Tyler is an environmental science major with a serious fitness addiction. His two favorite pastimes are most forms of fitness and hiking. Three of many individuals who inspire him are Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Goggins, and  Mikhail Gorbachev. A fun fact about him is that he loves almost all zombie movies/series. Join him for a full body boot-camp style class that uses a variety of equipment and provides a positive environment for self-improvement.
