Position Descriptions
Climbing Tower Attendant
Promote an active and energetic environment by teaching and advocating safe climbing skills. Use customer service skills to interact with users and to communicate proper equipment usage and climbing techniques. Belay certification not required to begin, but will be offered during employment.
Outing Center Attendant
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the UREC Outdoors Outing Center. Conduct equipment rentals, sales, and trip/clinic registrations. Responsible for the organization, access, and security of the equipment room during their shift. Duties include but are not limited to conducting sales, rentals, and registrations, managing point of sale, equipment use, loading rental equipment, and program marketing.
Student Adventure Trip Coordinator
Responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons on outdoor adventure trips. Coordinator team works with other trip leaders and the program coordinator to plan trips and see them to fruition. Research/study determined trip locations, check condition of and pack equipment for trips, determine itineraries, complete risk management forms, and conduct meetings to brief participants on food planning, gear needs, hygiene, leave no trace principles, and other aspects inherent to running a successful and safe backcountry trip.
*Requires minimum one semester of training.
Fitness Center Attendant
Fitness Center Attendants supervise fitness center operations, including the weight room and cardio deck. Other duties include enforcing facility policies and cleaning the fitness center facility and equipment.
Group Fitness Instructors
Group Fitness Instructors lead participants, in a group environment, though safe and effective fitness classes. This position is responsible for providing group exercise fitness instruction and supervision in variety of formats including strength training, aerobics, yoga, and more.
Personal Training
Instruct clients one-on-one through individualized fitness programs tailored based on the results the clients wish to achieve. Personal Trainers must have a current, nationally recognized Personal Training certification (ex. ACSM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, etc).
Event Staff
Assist in all manner of events, including athletics, other campus events, and outside client events held in the Kress Events Center.
Front Desk
Front Desk Attendants are responsible for the following: Welcoming students, members, and guests to the University Recreation and the facility. This position is looking for students with excellent communication skills, and energetic customer service. Other duties include cash handling, selling merchandise, checking out equipment, setting up equipment, answering phones, policy enforcement, assist with emergencies, and membership sales and service.
Intramural Official
Officiate and score keep all intramural activity’s that UW-Green Bay Intramural Program offers. Have previous experience playing sports and a broad background of rules. Experience in officiating is not required; all officials will go through training. Report directly to the Intramural Supervisors and assist with set-up and take down of the playing surface. Abide by all Kress Events Center and Intramural policies. Assist in providing a fun, safe, and fair sporting environment.
Lifeguard
Provide safety and supervision to the users of the Kress Events Center 8-lane pool during normal pool hours of early mornings, noon hours, evenings and weekends. Assist with large group reservations during special events. Assist with instructing private swim lessons. Certification required: CPR/First Aid, Lifeguarding.
Swim Instructor
Teach one-on-one private swim lessons during the weekdays starting at 6p. Average age of children are 4 to 10 years old. Lessons run concurrent with academic semesters. There are no lessons during break periods.
Graphic Designer
Develop creative materials to increase brand recognition and exposure for a large and diverse audience, including current and prospective students, faculty and staff, and the greater Green Bay community. Work collaboratively with our team to ensure a cohesive message and brand image across all of our assets. You’ll be responsible for our”look” and will gain experience working within brand guidelines.
Photographer/Videographer
Deliver high-quality, compelling digital content for our social media platforms, website, email newsletters, blog posts, and more. Photographer and Videographer can be two separate positions on our team, but we often have students who love to do both. Help us tell our story in a creative, highly visual way.
Swim Meet Manager
Swim Meet Managers are responsible for the operations of a Division 1 Collegiate Swimming and Diving meets. Applicants need to have excellent communication skills, have experience with operating timing systems or the willingness to learn, experience with setting up pool equipment, lane lines, and timing systems. This position can be fast paced and the manager will need to work with coaches, meet officials and athletes.
