COVID Guidance

Thank you for all you are currently doing and will continue to do to keep our campuses safe and healthy for all! The University plans to continue to follow CDC recommendations as they relate to both the prevention of community spread and the specific recommendations pertaining to institutions of higher education. Should community health factors or CDC/public health recommendations change, modifications or reinstatement of past practices may occur. At this time, University leadership asks that you be aware of and adhere to the following:

Masking

  • No masking requirement will be in place in general locations on campus (medical treatment areas like the Wellness Center or athletic training rooms may continue to require masking).
  • Please be respectful and cooperate with any individuals or areas that may post signage requesting that individuals use face coverings while in the operational area.
  • If face coverings are needed, they will be made available at the Wellness Center on the Green Bay campus or at the main administrative offices at the Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan campuses.

Testing

  • No surveillance testing will be required.
  • Individual operational areas (e.g. Athletics & International Education) may require testing for participation in certain university activities.
  • As a student, you will be able to obtain at-home testing kits for voluntary surveillance testing through the Wellness Center on the Green Bay campus (effective 8/15) or at the main administrative office on your respective campus for those on the Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan campuses while supplies last.
  • If you test positive on a COVID self-test, the campus does not require additional testing. Simply begin isolation.
  • Symptomatic testing for students who are unable to perform a self-test can be scheduled on the Green Bay campus at the Wellness Center by calling (920) 465-2380. For Manitowoc, Marinette and Sheboygan, tests are available at Prevea clinic sites. Visit myprevea.com or call the Prevea Nurse Line at (920) 496-4700 to schedule a Covid test at a Prevea location, or contact your personal provider or pharmacy of choice.

Vaccinations

  • UW-Green Bay recommends all faculty, staff and students be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters per CDC guidance.
  • There will be no vaccination requirements for participation in any University activity.
  • Covid vaccinations may be available through the Green Bay Wellness Center or at the Prevea clinic sites in Manitowoc, Marinette and Sheboygan. Green Bay students can call (920) 465-2380 to check availability and schedule an appointment.

Isolation

  • If you test positive, you should isolate in your residence, and refrain from coming to campus for classes, work or activities. Follow CDC guidelines to determine length of isolation or additional precautions.
  • There will be no designated isolation space for Green Bay campus students residing in university housing. If you test positive, we encourage you to communicate and coordinate with your roommate(s) or to return home to complete your period of isolation when possible. If you wish to remain on campus, you will be under the directive to isolate-in-place. Please contact Housing & Residential Education at (920) 465-2040 with questions pertaining to housing needs or the Wellness Center at (920) 465-2380 for questions regarding health and welfare.
  • The University will not be performing contact tracing on individuals who test positive or report a positive test.
