How to Get Started

Learn what you have to do to kick off your degree and take the first steps to advance your career.

1Determine which degree is right for you

The organizational leadership program has two degree options to provide the flexibility you need to complete your degree. Our advisors will guide you to the best degree option for you and be with you throughout the program.

Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) may be for you if:

  • You already have an Associate of Arts & Sciences degree.
  • You've taken a few college courses and wish to transfer in some credits.
  • You begin college, and select the organizational leadership major.

Bachelor of Applied Studies

This option is for technical college grads. The Bachelor of Applied Studies degree (B.A.S.) in organizational leadership is designed for students with an Applied Associate Degree from any Wisconsin Technical College System campus or other regionally accredited institution. Students who transfer an Applied Associate Degree to UW-Green Bay enter the University as juniors and then complete all other degree requirements.

2Begin with Your Core Courses

Leadership is the capacity to inspire others to learn more and do more to achieve a shared vision. With our required core courses, you'll build these foundational leadership skills. Each course is in an accelerated 7-week format, fully online. You'll build the skills you need to be an innovative and effective leader.

3 Choose Your Emphasis

As an organizational leadership major, you have a choice among nine emphases to focus your education. Each emphasis is designed to develop your knowledge and skills in a particular field. As a student in one of the emphases, you'll take classes that apply directly to career-specific skills.

The Village Behind You

"When I came back into education, one of my biggest surprises was the support that I had, the village behind me. Being an online student and working with my professors have been truly a blessing. They help students like me be successful by listening, by being flexible. Even though life is happening, I can continue to work towards a goal that I have."
