Welcome to the Department of Public and Environmental Affairs!
This department offers you two interdisciplinary programs of study: Public Administration and Environmental Policy and Planning. Public administration (PA) prepares students for careers in public or nonprofit organizations, as well as for further study in graduate programs. Majors choose an area of emphasis in public management and policy, nonprofit management or emergency management. Environmental Policy and Planning (EPP) is an environmental studies program based in the social sciences. It prepares you for a variety of challenging professions involving the planning, analysis, design, and administration of policies and programs dealing with the natural and human-made environment. You'll develop knowledge and skills in planning and decision making, public policy, political and economic systems, and environmental sciences, and acquire the analytic capacities to help shape environmental quality in the future.
