Opportunities to gain experience are built throughout the program. You’ll have a field-based course as well as a summer immersion program. Your dissertation represents the culminating assessment of your doctorate. This field component will take place where you live, and you’ll work together with an organization in your community to address issues and make an impact.

Current Emphasis Options

The area of emphasis is comprised of 12 credits tailored by you.

Public & Non-Profit Leadership

In this emphasis, you'll take four 700-level courses in Public Administration.

Specialized Studies

In this emphasis, choose four graduate-level courses aligned with your learning and leadership goals. Plus, we've created the flexibility for you to take emphasis courses from other UW graduate programs outside UW-Green Bay. For example, you may select a cluster of courses focused on global leadership, education or social justice.
