Dr. Newaz is an assistant professor of Marketing. He has a Ph.D. in Marketing from Texas Tech University, U.S.A. (2020), an M.M.R (MS in Marketing Research) from Southern Illinois University, U.S.A. (2015), and an M.B.A. from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh (2006).
He joined UW-Green Bay in the Fall of 2020. Before joining as a faculty member, he worked in the telecommunication industry for several years. At UW-Green Bay, Dr. Newaz teaches Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, and Analytics and Branding. He advocates high-impact practices, such as industry certifications, project-based learning, and simulations, and integrates them into classes.
His research primarily focuses on social media and emerging high-impact marketing pedagogy. He has published articles on social media in the Journal of Business Research and the Journal of Historical Research in Marketing, among others. His pedagogical research on simulation has been published in the Economic Horizon. He is an Editorial Review Board (ERB) member of the International Journal of Advertising. Dr. Newaz reviews manuscripts for the Journal of Historical Research in Marketing, Marketing Education Review, and the Journal of Electronic Commerce Research.
Outside work, he loves watching soccer, traveling, and long drives.
