Sustainability Initiatives
Put Words Into Action
More than a practice, sustainability is at the heart of our mission.
Over a half-century of Earth Days have come and gone since UW-Green Bay was anointed Eco U® by the national media. Going "green" has waxed and waned through the decades, but our spirit of sustainability continues to thrive stronger than ever.
So, what are we Doing?
Aiming to add a little green to all we do.
Whether big (like managing our stormwater) or small (like reusing your lunch container), we strive to infuse sustainability into the activities of our students, faculty, staff and surrounding communities. Learn about our initiatives:

Seeing Stars
We're going for the gold (at being green).
The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) evaluates universities on their sustainability progress. It focuses on five areas of sustainability: academics, engagement, operations, planning and administration, and leadership and innovation. UW-Green Bay participated in STARS for the first time in 2011. In 2022, UW-Green Bay earned a silver level rating again, and scored closer to our goal of gold!
