About Bob Schaefer

Mr. Robert W. Schaefer, native of Salina, Kansas, studied at the University of Kansas Law School. Fortunately for UW-Green Bay, Mr. Schaefer came to Green Bay in 1956 to practice law. His years with the law firm of Trowbridge, Planert & Schaefer, his civic work with Allouez and Brown County commissions and boards, and his leadership roles with nonprofit organizations gave Robert Schaefer a rich and varied background. It is a background of knowledge, experience and know-how that he has shared generously with UW-Green Bay.

As the founding president of the non-profit board, University Village Housing Inc., Robert Schaefer has been the catalyst for bringing to fruition dreams for traditional student housing at UW-Green Bay. He has worked tirelessly to keep projects on track. And when hopes have grown faint and bureaucracy had threatened to overwhelm efforts, Robert Schaefer had unraveled the tangles and assured the continuation of planning and building of on-campus housing.
