Jul 27	Flat-top Aster (Aster umbellatus), Burdock (Arctium minus), Wild Cucumber (Echinocystis lobata), Rough Bedstraw (Galium asprellum), Giant Sunflower (Helianthus giganteus) all in flower in Shawano and/or Marathon Counties (Gary Fewless).

Jul 24	Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium) and Prairie Dock (Silphium terebinthinaceum) in flower, both planted in prairies at UWGB (Gary Fewless)
Jul 19	Spotted Touch-me-not (Impatiens biflora) in flower, UWGB (Gary Fewless).
Jul 18	Smooth Aster (Aster laevis), Grass-leaved Goldenrod (Solidago graminifolia) and Canadian Horseweed (Conyza canadensis), Prairie Rosinweed (Silphium integrifolium--planted) in flower, UWGB (Gary Fewless).

Jul l4	Wood Frog metamorphs (almost frogs, but still have tails of the tadpoles), Peters Marsh, west shore of Green Bay (Steve Price). Giant Goldenrod (Solidago gigantea) in flower, UWGB (Gary Fewless).

Jul10	Forest Sunflower (Helianthus decapetalus) and Yellow Coneflower (Ratibida pinnata) just beginning to flower, UWGB (Gary Fewless).
Jul09	Monkey Flower (Mimulus ringens)and Woolgrass (Scirpus cyperinus), in flower, UWGB (Gary Fewless). Hottest day of the year (so far), 92 F in Green Bay. After a very rainy May and June we have entered a dry weather pattern which has begun to affect crops and lawns.
Jul08	Field Milkwort (Polygala sanguinea) in flower, Brown County, Town of Suamico. Black Elder Berry (Sambucus canadensis) is still very conspicuously flowering in wet, sunny sites in northeastern Wisconsin, and White Meadowsweet (Spiraea alba), Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) and Northern Water-plantain (Alisma triviale) are also flowering in sunny wetlands and (Gary Fewless). Along the west shore of Green Bay, on areas of lakebed exposed by the falling water levels of the last few years, there are large stands of Soft-stem Bulrush (Scirpus validus).

Jul06	Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum virginianum); Sow Thistle (Sonchus uliginosus) in flower, UWGB. Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis) in flower, Shawano County (Joel Whitehouse).
Jul05	Compass Plant (Silphium laciniatum), Early Goldenrod (Solidago juncea), Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), Chicory (Cichorium intybus) in flower, UWGB (Gary Fewless).
Jul04	Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa) in flower, UWGB (Gary Fewless).
Jul03	American Basswood (Tilia americana) in flower, UWGB (Gary Fewless). The related horticultural Small-leaved Linden (Tilia cordata) began flowering at UWGB 06/26.
