| July 31 | High temperatures of about 100 °F are predicted for today in Green Bay and across the region as extremely hot weather continues. [Green Bay actually reached 94 F as a high temperature, although Luxemburg a short distance to the east hit 99°] This is the first day i have seen fully open flowers of Eupatorium maculatum (Joe-pye-weed) |
| July 27 | First flowering plants (anthesis) of Andropogon gerardii (big bluestem), UWGB. |
| July 26 | The first flowering plants (anthesis) of Panicum virgatum (Swithchgrass) were noted in the UWGB prairies. Green Bay recived a total of 1.67 inches of rain over the 3 day period ending today. |
| July 25 | First day of fully open flowers for Silphium terebinthinaceum (prairie dock) on the UWGB planted prairie. |
| July 17 | A high temperature of 97 F and the third consecutive day of temperatures in the 90's. |
| July 15 | Green Bay's high temperature today was 98 F, tying the record high temperature for this date. |
| July 12 | The first open flowers of Soldago gigantea (late goldenrod) were noted today on UW-Green Bay. |
| July 10 | I probably missed the start of flowering, but Verbena hastata (blue vervain) is in flower now on the UW-Green Bay campus. |
| July 09 | First flower for the following plants on UW-Green Bay campus: Ratibida pinnata (yellow coneflower), Impatiens capensis (touch-me-nots) and Cirsium vulgare (bull thistle). |
| July 08 | I'm seeing ripe black raspberries (Rubus occidentalis) now in theCity of Green Bay area. |
| July 07 | Daucus carota (wild carrot or Queen Anne's-lace) in flower, UWGB. |
| July 06 | Ceanothus americanus (New Jersey tea) and Amorpha canescens (lead plant) are now in flower in UWGB's planted prairie. Also the Silphium laciniatum (compass plant) are becoming more conspicuously in flower. Other conspicuous plants on the UWGB prairie include Rudbeckia hirta (black-eyed susan), Tradescantia ohioensis (spiderwort) and Vicia cracca (cow vetch, an invasive alien). |
