Sep 26	Compare the leaf color of Rhus hirta (staghorn sumac) over the last 5 weeks. Compare the leaf color of Rhus hirta for approximately this date over the period 2003-2006.
Sep 21	Another cool morning with some frost in the northern areas. Green Bay's low temperature was 35° F. Rhinelander reached 30° F. Goldenrods are still conspicuous in local fields.
Sep 20	Compare the leaf color of Rhus hirta (staghorn sumac) over the last 4 weeks. The leaf color change continues ahead of last year's pace. Compare today's photo to the same sumac plant last year at this date. Green Bay reached a low temperature of 37 °F this morning and frost was predicted widely in the more northern counties. That is our lowest temperature since May 22.
Sep 14	Solidago canadensis (Canada goldenrod) is at about its flowering peak now on the UWGB campus (if you choose to split off Solidago altissima as a separate species, that is the most abundant species in flower now).
Sep 13	Rhus hirta (staghorn sumac) leaves continue to turn red. Compare photos of the same plant over the last 4 weeks. The sumac leaves are turning color a little earlier this year than they did last year. Compare the photos for the same date (Sep. 13) in both years, plus similar dates for 2003 and 2004.
Sep 11	Another 0.75 inches of rain fell in Green Bay today.

Sep 06	A few leaves of Rhus hirta (staghorn sumac) are beginning to turn red, UW-Green Bay. Compare to the photos of this same clone from Aug. 16 and Aug 28.
