harvest of 312,519 deer for the 9 day season that ended Nov 27. That
is slightly higher than last year. |

Green Bays high temperature was 55°
F (record high is 57, avg high is 35) and there was a total of
about 0.8 inches of rain from yesterday and today. There is still
some ice, but both the East River in Allouez and the UWGB prairie
pond have open water again. |

persistent light rain most of the snow in Green Bay has melted. |

(at Beaupre St. in Allouez). Green Bay received 0.2 inches of snow. |

UWGB's prairie pond
is now ice-covered. The Ice came off this pond on April
4, so there was a total of 231 days (33 weeks) in the ice-free condition.
The average date for ice-over for this pond has been Nov 24, and
ranged from November 10 to December 18 (for 9 years of data).
Wisconsin DNR reports the first two days of the current hunting
season (Nov 19 - 20) resulted in a slight increase in deer registrations.
The estimated number of deer in Wisconsin is about 1.5 million and
the estimated harvest is about 450,000 deer. Excessive numbers of
deer in some portions of Wisconsin are a threat to the health of
the forest.
