Dec 17

Muskrats are back at Pt. au Sable! At least 14 muskrat lodges were found during Phragmites stem removal in the lagoon near the tip at Pt. Sable. This along with other positive signs including large concentrations of waterfowl in the lagoon in the fall, and otter tracks this winter, suggest that things are definitely promising for ongoing wetland restoration at Pt. au Sable Nature Preserve.

	High temperature is 40° F again--fourth consecutive day of 40 or above. As a consequence most of our snow cover is gone as shown at left. The high was before dawn, however, and the temperature fell throughout the day. A little snow (0.7 inches) fell in the evening between about 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. Cooler air is predicted for the foreseeable future.
	Ice cover remains intact on the East River, but there is considerable water on top of the ice, as at left near Green Isle Park in the Village of Allouez, Brown County.

Warm weather continues with a high temperature of 45° F.

Warm, foggy weather continues with high temperature of 42° F in Green Bay, and a morning low of only 36°.

Warm weather (high temperature 41° F) has moved into the Green Bay area, accompanied by fog, as here along the East River in Allouez, Brown County.

The photo from the NOAA Coastwatch program’s MODIS imagery, shows that most of Green Bay is still not ice-covered, but there are many large pieces of ice in southern Green Bay.

Green Bay received 2.1 inches of snow.

Cold weather persists with a morning low temperature of 3° F.

Ice is forming on Mahon Creek in UW-Green Bay's Cofrin Arboretum.

Green Bay's low temperature was 0° F and the high temperature rose only to 13°.
