Whether you're working on a design for a senior capstone project or exploring solutions for a research project, you'll find the tools you need—from CNC machines to 3D printers. These facilities are growing fast, and you’ll grow with them. New equipment is added regularly to meet student needs. As the space evolves, so do your opportunities to learn, build and innovate. The Prototype Lab is located in the Brown County STEM Innovation Center, right at the heart of hands-on learning at UW-Green Bay.

Browse our equipment uses, capabilities and specifications below. The lab continues to evolve—more advanced equipment is already in the pipeline, some of which would be for prototyping and others for material testing.

CNC Mill
The HAAS Mini Mill is a compact CNC vertical machining center designed for small-scale precision machining. The HAAS Mini Mill is surprisingly versatile for its size—you can make a wide range of precision parts and prototypes, including:
- Custom brackets & mounts for robotics, automotive, or aerospace applications
- Aluminum & steel housings for electronics or mechanical assemblies
- Engraved nameplates or signage with intricate detailing
- Tooling components like jigs, fixtures and soft jaws

CNC Lathe
The HAAS TL-2 is a CNC Lathe designed for precision machining with an easy-to-use interface. When it comes to turning operations. With it, you can create:

The Dremel 8250 is a high-speed brushless rotary tool designed for advanced DIYers and professionals. Use the Dremel kit for a diverse range of purposes:

3D Printer: Formlabs Form 3
The Formlabs Form 3 is an industrial-quality desktop resin 3D printer that uses Low Force Stereolithography (LFS) technology to produce high-precision prints. Uses and applications include:
