Conserve on Campus
Small Moves.
Big Impact.
Let’s power a resilient, efficient UW‑Green Bay together.
Smart operations plus occupant actions equals better thermal comfort and fewer complaints. Report comfort issues, lighting outages, leaks, pests or supply needs.

Energy‑Saving Methods
Be the reason our campus runs smarter.
Shut it Off
Modern office equipment has power-save sleep modes, so you don't need to shut it down daily. For maximum energy savings, you should still power off your computer and copier when not in use for extended periods, such as overnight or weekends. Do remember to turn off the lights and electronics that don't have power-save modes.
Efficient Lights
Eliminate the use of incandescent and halogen table or floor lamps. LED and CFL bulbs are available in many sizes to fit most lamps. Turn off excess lighting when not in use.
Efficient Temps
Campus room temperatures will be set to 68°F in the winter and 76°F in the summer. Requests for any temperature adjustments will be determined on an individual basis. Portable indoor space heaters aren't allowed for personal use because they pose fire hazards and waste energy.
Conservation Alignment
UW‑Green Bay has a long history of living our Eco U® values. Today, conserving energy on campus means smarter buildings, informed choices and a community that looks out for each other—and for our budget. Wisconsin’s clean‑energy direction calls on public institutions like ours to lead with efficiency first, while planning for a carbon‑free future. The Governor’s Executive Order #38 set a statewide goal of 100% carbon‑free electricity by 2050, creating momentum for efficiency in state facilities.
