Who UW-Green Bay Can Sponsor
UW-Green Bay sponsors certain employment-based immigration statuses for eligible positions. Sponsorship is limited by federal law, university policy and the nature of the appointment. Each position must be reviewed for eligibility before any sponsorship can begin.
Eligible Positions
UW-Green Bay may sponsor:
- Tenure-track faculty
- Ongoing assistant teaching professors
These positions are potentially eligible for:
- H-1B temporary worker status
(employment-based work authorization) - Employment-based permanent residence
(the I-140 immigrant petition)
Ineligible Positions
At this time, UW-Green Bay doesn't sponsor visas for:
- Non-instructional positions
- Temporary, short-term, student or training positions
- Most project, ad-hoc, limited-term or less than 50% FTE appointments
- Self-sponsored or independent contractor arrangements
