Managing My GB Alert Account
GB Alert Login
Log in to GB Alert with your UW-Green Bay login credentials. The username is the first part of the UW-Green Bay email (minus "@uwgb.edu"). The password is your campus network password. You might need to pass dual authentication with OKTA.
Common Questions
Can I opt-out of alerts?
Yes. Log into your account to opt-out of GB Alert. To opt-out of SMS text messaging, click "Inactive " for each number. To opt-out of email messaging, click "Inactive " for each email address.
How do I add or delete a contact in the GB Alert system?
Log into GB Alert. The phone numbers and email addresses you have in the system will be listed.
- Adding a phone number: Enter an additional phone number, select the carrier and click "Add New." A validation code will be sent to the phone number. Be make sure you can contact the owner of the phone number to enter the code to complete the process.
- Adding an email: Enter an email address and click "Add New." A validation code will be sent to the email address. Be make sure you can contact the owner of the email to enter the code to complete the process
- Inactivating or deleting existing phone numbers and email addresses can also be done from this page.
Do I have to use my campus email address for GB Alert?
It is your choice, but we recommend using your campus email.
If you sign up your campus email:
- Your campus email account will receive a GB Alert email for any groups that you have signed up for.
- Your campus email account will receive two (duplicate) GB Alert email messages for a campus wide emergency.
If you don't sign up your campus email:
- Your campus email account will not receive a GB Alert email for any groups that you have signed up for.
- Your campus email account may receive an emergency message for campus wide emergencies.
How do I change my GB Alert password?
Your password with automatically sync with any changes in your campus password.
Why didn't I receive my email address validation?
If you didn't receive a confirmation email, it most likely was captured by your spam filter. Check your junk or spam folder for the validation message. The confirmation email will be sent from "GB Alert <no-reply@omnilert.com>."
What happens if my name and email address changes?
You receive an email from IT notifying you that your UWGB username has been changed and you'll be instructed to create a new GB Alert account. University Police will delete your old GB Alert account 15 calendar days after receipt of the email.

What do I need to do if I change my cell service provider?
You'll need to update your carrier information in GB Alert by following these steps:
- Log into your GB Alert account.
- Select the "Services" tab.
- Delete the cell phone number with the changed carrier.
- Enter the cell phone number, select the new carrier from the drop-down list and click "Add New."
