Northeast Wisconsin Engineering Endowed Scholarship - First Year

Discipline: Engineering

Description: Frederick and Patricia Baer established this scholarship in 1987. Mr. Baer was the President of Paper Converting Machine Company in Green Bay. The Baer's are active supporters in multiple ways of the University. Wood Hall, an academic building on campus, is named after Mrs. Baer's father. He was one of the individuals who plaed a key role in bring the University to Northeastern Wisconsin.

Founded in 1922, the family owned and operated business is in its third generation and employs a workforce of 2,250 at its sites in Germany and 14 locations abroad. Description: This scholarship was established in 1982 by Nancy Sell, who served as professor in natural and applied sciences at UW-Green Bay. Ms. Sell passed away in 1996. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students at UW-Green Bay who are in high academic standing, and who have declared a major in pre-engineering, or a major or minor in chemistry or physics.
