Course Description

"Oh Yeah, I Knew That!" is a practical, hands-on EMDR refresher designed for clinicians who have completed EMDR Basic Training but want to rebuild confidence, reduce drift, and strengthen their direct application of the eight phases.

Learning Objectives:

  • Troubleshoot blocks.

About the Trainer

Nikki Hensler Gordon, MS, MA, LPC, CCISM, CCI

Nikki Hensler Gordon, MS, MA, LPC, CCISM, CCI

Nikki Hensler Gordon is an LPC and an EMDR International Association Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant. She provides consultation and continuing education on various topics for basic trained EMDR therapists, as well as supporting consultants-in-training working towards their EMDRIA designation.

Her experience in the field ranges from providing crisis response and victim accompaniment during the initial presentation phase and through the reporting and law enforcement interview process in a hospital based sexual assault response unit, to being a co-located partner in a family justice center working with interpersonal violence victims and victims of violent crime. In addition to running her private practice, Nikki works with law enforcement and district attorneys' offices regarding the neurobiology of trauma and victim focused best practices as well as assisting on high risk/high lethality assessments. She also provides pro bono mental health services for first responders, veterans, and active military members. 

Nikki earned her Master of Science Degree in Community Psychology from Alverno College and a graduate certificate in Trauma Informed Care from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She holds a graduate certificate and Master of Arts in Forensic Criminology & Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Nikki is certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) through UMBC, services as a Field Traumatologist with the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology, is certified in Crisis Intervention through the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and is a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist. She is also a Clinical Supervisor for the 988 Suicide Hotline.

Nikki is a volunteer with Copline, the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Project, and Therapy Aid Coalition, and previously served as the Ethics and Professional Development Chair of the Wisconsin Counseling Association. She is an adjunct professor at SNHU in the online psychology program, teaching ethics and forensic psychology, and at Carroll University teaching psychology classes in the Associates of Nursing Program.
