Crisis Core Training
The Behavioral Health Training Partnership at the UW–Green Bay provides orientation training for new crisis workers, as required by Wisconsin DHS Chapter 34: Emergency Mental Health Service Programs. Orientation training requirements include learning to respond to emergency mental health needs, basic mental health and psychopharmacology concepts and more.

This curriculum is designed to prepare crisis workers to deliver supportive interventions via phone, in the office or via mobile crisis response. It includes foundational self-paced, asynchronous trainings (Crisis Intervention Serivces Orientation) and live, synchronous courses. Live coursework builds on the foundational skills taught in the self-paced course, and includes discussion, small group work and post-training action plans.
The courses below are designed to be taken in order whenever possible, including completion of the self-paced Crisis Intervention Services Orientation course prior to the first live training session. Wisconsin Mental Health Laws is best taken as the final course in the training series.
