The bootcamp for CHEM 306 will cover basic laboratory techniques for organic chemistry including commonly used synthetic methods, purification and characterization of reaction products (2 credits). The bootcamp is an ideal solution for athletes and students with pre-professional majors in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or chiropractic. Students interested in enrolling in CHEM 306 bootcamp are expected to demonstrate an understanding of all lab techniques, reactions and instruments, regardless of prior exposure in lecture courses. Students should have completed general chemistry lecture and lab courses. In addition, it is HIGHLY recommended that students have successfully completed both Organic Chemistry I and II lecture courses before taking this bootcamp. UW-Green Bay’s CHEM 306 is equivalent to UW Madison’s CHEM 344.
