Linking Soil Health Assessment to Edge-of-Field Water Quality in the Great Lakes Basin

This project links soil health indicators, on-farm management, and edge-of-field water quality across working agricultural fields in the U.S. Great Lakes Basin. Since 2016, the project has developed a unique long-term dataset that includes repeated soil health measurements, surface runoff and tile-flow water quality data, field management records, and site characteristics. These data can support research on how conservation practices may influence soil health and nutrient and sediment losses from agricultural fields.

Researchers, modelers, agency partners, conservation professionals, and others interested in using the dataset or exploring potential collaborations are encouraged to reach out. We are especially interested in collaborations related to modeling, advanced statistical analyses, and soil health indicator development.
