Thank you for being part of the FOCUS Conference! This page provides answers to frequently asked questions to help you prepare for your presentation and the conference. Please contact the FOCUS Facilitators if you need additional assistance.

Do presenters need to register for the conference?
Presenters should register for the conference using the presenter registration code provided.
Please use the same email address throughout the registration process, including conference registration and Whova account setup.
Is lodging provided for presenters?
Yes. As part of the presenter confirmation process, the FOCUS team will coordinate your lodging reservation.
FOCUS provides and pays for single-occupancy lodging. We will assume only the presenter will be staying in the room unless you notify us otherwise.
if you plan to have any additional guest staying in your room, please notify the DHS DQA FOCUS Inbox.
Please note that:
- Additional guests will result in an extra room occupancy charge assessed by the hotel.
- Any additional occupancy charges are the responsibility of the presenter.
- Providing this information in advance helps avoid billing and occupancy issues during check-in.

Are conference meals included?
Yes.
Presenters receive meals that are included as part of the conference activities and meals that are part of the conference schedule:
- Two breakfasts
- Two lunches
- Two conference snack breaks
Additional dining options are available through the Kalahari resort.
What technology will be available in presentation rooms?
Presentation room technology varies by session type (keynote, breakout, and panel presentations).
Specific audio/visual equipment and room setup information are provided during the presenter confirmation process.
When and how do I need to submit my PowerPoint presentation?
Presentation submission instructions and deadlines will be communicated to presenters prior to the conference.
Presenters are encouraged to submit materials by the established deadline to allow sufficient time for review and loading onto conference equipment.

Can I bring handouts?
Electronic handouts are strongly encouraged. The conference does not provide printed copies of presentation materials.
If you would like attendees to receive handouts, please upload them to Whova before the conference. Materials uploaded to Whova will remain available to attendees for approximately three months after the conference.

Will my presentation be available to attendees after the conference?
If you upload presentation materials or handouts to Whova, attendees will be able to access them through the conference app for approximately three months after the conference.
If your session is recorded, the recording will also be available to attendees in Whova for approximately three months after the conference.
Only materials you choose to upload will be shared
What should I do when I arrive at the conference?
Presenters should:
- Check in at conference registration
- Review room assignments
- Confirm presentation logistics
- Arrive at their presentation room early
- Introduce themselves to the moderator
What does the moderator do?
Moderators assist presenters by:
- Speaker introductions
- Keeping sessions on schedule
- Assisting with audience questions
- Providing conference announcements
- Serving as a point of contact if issues arise
What if I need to make changes after submitting my information?
Please contact the DHS DQA FOCUS Inbox as soon as possible if you need to update:
- Presenter information, including co-presenters
