8 Week Class
The Entrepreneurial Training Program (ETP) consists of eight streamlined sessions designed to guide you in creating a blueprint for a successful and profitable business. Each week, you'll participate in a 3-hour class throughout the duration of the program.
Program Qualifications & Cost
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is offering qualified applicants Entrepreneurial Training Grants that cover most of the $1,000 course fee. The grant covers 75% of the tuition, reducing participant cost to $250. Grant recipients must meet attendance requirements and complete a workbook or business plan within two weeks of the final session of course. The course is not intended for non-profit entities. It is recommended that participants access no-cost business consulting with the Small Business Development Center for customized guidance and planning. Please read on to understand requirements and to ensure your business’ eligibility for this program.
Eligible Businesses
Because of the partial grant funding associated with this program, businesses interested in participating must:
- Be a for-profit business currently located in Wisconsin, or the owner must be planning to start a Wisconsin-based business
- Be re-examining their currently operating business or plan to start a new business within the next 24 months
- Not have declared bankruptcy in the past 12 months
- Not have previously received an Entrepreneurial Training Program (ETP) grant in the past
Success Story
"When you start a business, you don't know all the things you don't know and wouldn't know to ask...One of first exercises was to know who your customer is, to get inside the minds of your customers. It helped us look at our business, evolve into what we are now."
