Expectations
Participation in TRiO SSS is a partnership. To truly ignite your potential and see powerful results, both you and our dedicated staff have commitments to uphold.
Student Expectations
By fulfilling these expectations, you are actively investing in your own academic rise.
- Engage with Your Coach
Attend all scheduled meetings and come prepared with questions or topics to discuss. Your Coach is your primary resource—use them! - Be Proactive
If you hit a challenge (academic, financial, or personal), reach out to your coach before the problem gets too big. We offer "just-in-time" support, but you need to spark the conversation. - Follow Through
Commit to completing the action items and referrals your coach suggests (e.g., meeting with a tutor, applying for a scholarship, seeing an academic advisor). - Be Candid
Share your true academic and personal goals, as well as any obstacles you're facing. This allows your coach to provide the most effective, personalized support. - Attend Programming
Participate in SSS workshops, events and activities that expand your horizons. These opportunities are designed to build your skills and develop your network of support.

Faculty & Staff Expectations
We recognize that the entire campus community helps our students succeed. If you refer a student to TRiO SSS or work with a program participant, here is how you can help support their success and collaborate with our team.
- Ask for Support
Issue a Navigate alert when students are struggling. This will help the SSS Success Coach to reach out and provide specific resources and guidance. - Understand the Resource
Know that SSS provides holistic, individualized coaching (time management, goal setting, financial literacy) in addition to academic tutoring and advising. - Refer Promptly
If you identify a student who meets the eligibility criteria (First-Gen, low-income, or disabled) and could use intensive support, submit a referral immediately so we can reach out. - Collaborate on Success
If an SSS Coach reaches out to you regarding a shared student, work with us to find the best support plan. We are here to supplement and reinforce the guidance you provide.
Faculty & Staff Referral
Know a student who could benefit from personalized success coaching and support? We welcome referrals from the UW-Green Bay community.
