How to Apply

Who Are Special Students?

Special (non-degree seeking) students take courses at UW-Green Bay without enrolling in a degree program. This includes:

High School Students

Students earning college credit while still in high school through programs like:

High School Graduates

These are students who have graduated from high school and haven't yet earned a bachelor's degree, but aren't currently pursuing a degree at UW-Green Bay.

Post-Baccalaureate Students

Individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree but want to take undergraduate or graduate-level courses.

Summer or Winterim Students

Students enrolled at another institution who take courses at UW-Green Bay during summer and winter breaks to transfer credits back to their home university.

If you’re applying through a program like College Credit in High School (CCIHS) or Dual Enrollment Academy, follow the specific application instructions on the program’s webpage.

Apply through the Universities of Wisconsin online application system. Select “Special Student” as your student type.

2Send Required Documents

Most non-degree seeking students don't need to submit transcripts. However, high school students applying through ECCP must provide a transcript and obtain approval from their school district.

Tuition Costs

Cost varies for non-degree seeking students depending on your special enrollment type.

High School Students

High school students who are enrolled via a special program like College Credit in High School (CCIHS), Early College Credit Program (ECCP) or GEAR UP have a reduced tuition rate, and costs may be covered by the school district or grant. Check with the program coordinator for details.

Standard Tuition Rate

High school graduates, post-baccalaureate students and visiting summer or winter interim students pay the standard per-credit tuition rate; additional fees may apply.

Auditors

No Financial Aid

Special students are generally not eligible for financial aid.

Will Credits Transfer?
