Nurse Scholar

UW-Green Bay Nursing & Health Studies offers a Traditional BSN program that prepares graduates to work in the fast-paced healthcare field.

To recognize high academic achievement, we created a Nurse Scholar Option that gives academically gifted students direct admission to the nursing major (as freshmen). This is for high school seniors who demonstrate academic accomplishments suggestive of success in a nursing program.

•    The Nurse Scholar application is available starting January 15th
•    Applications are due by April 15th.
•    Successful applicants will be notified by May 15th of their status in the program

The selection committee will consider the following in their decision process:
1. Academic Variables like High School GPA and grades in science and math courses.
2. Non-academic variables like volunteering, community service, and your video-taped response to questions.

While there are limited spots for the Nurse Scholar (Direct Entry) program, those not selected as Nurse Scholars may apply to the nursing program when they meet the admission requirements for the Traditional BSN program.
