Biography

Alan has worked around the country in big markets and small, in big theatres and small: Steppenwolf, American Conservatory Theater, Milwaukee Rep, Third Avenue Playhouse, Theatre Z, Peninsula Players, Victory Gardens, Organic. He also got his butt kicked on TV shows like Walker, Texas Ranger and Real Stories of the Highway Patrol and movies like Just Visiting and Feed the Fish (why do directors like beating him up so much?). Nothing tops the experience of directing UW-Green Bay students in Julius Caesar in University Theatre in 2018.

Alan lives in Door County with the fabulously talented Costume Designer Karin Simonson Kopischke. They have two adult children: Anya, a theatre and performance professional in NYC, and Simon, a mathematics student at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.
