          During his 30 years at UW-Green Bay, Jim Wiersma taught a variety of courses in chemistry and environmental science, as well as graduate programs and senior seminars. He supervised many graduate students whose thesis focused on surface and ground water concerns. During retirement he served for five years on the Green Bay Water Commission, two years as its president. He current serves as the president of the UW-Green Bay Retiree Association
