Turchan's research follows contemporary and historical interpretations of queer culture and politics. They work interdisciplinarily in the fields of jewelry and wearables, sculpture, painting, design and collage. Through the use of found objects, symbols and color their work is a textural delight for the eyes. One that candy-coats potentially difficult to broach topics. Sweet and also bitter, their work follows topics of mental health, sex, gender, magic, transformation and divergence from normative ideologies.
