Make It Your Career
In today's digital landscape, it's especially important for professionals to build media literacy and have a spark for storytelling.
Our Schedule
Want to express your creativity? Need to expand your portfolio? Just want to apply your skills with professional equipment? If you have an idea, our station can help produce it. TV GBX is available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m Monday through Friday, with evenings and weekends available upon request.
Cutting-Edge Equipment
Create boldly—we've got the resources to back you!
Come down to TV GBX and explore video production in all forms. Flex your acting skills in front of the camera. Find the best camera angles through camera operation. Or lead the way as a director. No matter what you want to learn, we have the equipment to help you realize your ideas and make the content you want to see.
Rules & Regulations
- ALWAYS act as though the cameras are rolling! Don’t talk about things you don’t want people to hear. We are not subject to FCC rules but can be shut down for the things said on camera.
- Be aware of your language and content. Ask yourself – am I welcoming people in, or pushing them away? Is this something I would say in unfamiliar company or in front of family or employers?
- No food or drink in the studio. Water in a sealed bottle or container is fine but should not be near any of the equipment.
- Take care of the equipment and space. It took many people a lot of effort over a long time to build the space and obtain the equipment. The equipment is very expensive and must be treated with care. Anyone seen not treating the space or equipment with respect will be asked to leave and/or banned.
- The content of your programming must be approved by Professor Kavlie, your class professor or the TV studio director.
- Training is required. No one is allowed to use the equipment in the TV studio or studio control without being trained on the equipment and approved to use it.
- You must get approval from Professor Kavlie or Mike Schmitt to gain access to the TV studio out of class hours.

"TV GBX has helped me understand the world of TV/Video production and what I could expect in a professional studio. Having the ability to use professional equipment in my undergrad allowed me to gain a confidence I wouldn’t have if I didn’t get the opportunity. I know that in my future roles I can operate the equipment with skill and confidence!"
