Canoe and Kayak Kickapoo River

Kickapoo River Valley Reserve, WI

September 19-22

Join UREC Outdoors as we paddle down one of the most popular river destinations in Wisconsin, the Kickapoo River! Scenic and winding, the Kickapoo meanders through Wildcat Mountain State Park and the Kickapoo Valley Reserve State Natural Area. This river boasts a wide variety of wildlife and is bordered by high sandstone bluffs, making it a must-see for any canoe or kayaker!

Backpacking Pictured Rocks

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, MI

October 4-6

If you’re looking for grand views and beautiful hiking just a short jaunt from Green Bay, look no further than Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! Established in 1966, this stretch of lakeshore on the south shore of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula is famous for its dramatic multicolored cliffs and unique natural formations like Miner’s Castle (pictured), Grand Portal, and Chapel Rock. Join us for a weekend of backpacking and see some of the best scenery the UP has to offer!

Kayaking Marsh Migrations

Horicon Marsh, WI

October 12

Glacier-made and the largest freshwater cattail marsh in the United States, Horicon Marsh is home to a wide variety of song and water birds. Trip with UREC Outdoors on this one-day canoe and kayak trip to observe the migration of ducks, geese, herons, cormorants, egrets, and more!

Rock Climbing Devil's Lake

Devil's Lake State Park, WI

October 25-27

Founded in 1911, Devil's Lake State Park has been a popular destination for boaters, hikers, and rock climbers for over a century. With over 2,000 established climbing routes on “bulletproof” quartzite, convenient car camping areas, and scenic vistas Devil’s Lake has long been a rock climbing mecca and a proving ground for climbers of every skill level. Join UREC Outdoors for a weekend of rock climbing and rappelling to see what the fuss is all about!

Boats on the Bay

Lambeau Cottage, UWGB Campus

Saturday, 9/7: 1-4pm

Come to Lambeau Cottage any time between 1:00 and 4:00 and enjoy free use of UREC Outdoors' canoes and kayaks on Green Bay. No experience necessary, be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting wet!

Fox River, City of Green Bay

Friday, 9/26: 2-6pm

Register for this free event to join UREC Outdoors for a quick paddle to a park on the Fox River where the group will be led in some relaxing yoga by the UREC Fitness coordinator before paddling back. No yoga or paddling experience necessary!
