Intro to Outdoor Adventure

Peninsula State Park, WI
Interested in camping and outdoor recreation, but not sure where to start? Take a quick jaunt up to Door County with the knowledgeable UREC Outdoors student trip coordinators and experience what the outdoors has to offer. Enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, slacklining, and hammocking during the day and relax by the campfire in the evening. Learn a variety of outdoor skills on this outing including but not limited to: camp setup, fire building, outdoor cooking, and leave no trace principles. No outdoor experience needed, so register on your own or with a friend and get ready to begin your adventure with UREC Outdoors!

Canoeing Flambeau River

Flambeau River State Forest, WI
Join UREC Outdoors on a scenic paddle in north central Wisconsin! The North Fork of the Flambeau River is one of the more popular paddling destinations in the state, and with a mix of flat and whitewater along its length it holds interest for every paddler! Enjoy this 20+ mile canoe trip full of fish, plentiful wildlife, beautiful hardwood forests, and fun on the water!

Kayak and Paddle Board Duck Creek

Green Bay, WI
Enjoy a fall day paddle right here in Brown County with UREC Outdoors! Register for this day outing to paddle Duck Creek with your choice of kayak or paddleboard. Paddle down Duck Creek with the group before a break at Pamperin Park for lunch, hammocking, and fun outdoor activities before paddling back to the vehicle!

Carney Crag Rock Climbing

Iron Mountain, MI
A hidden gem just inside the UP, Carney Crag boasts Colorado-quality granite and some of the best slab climbing you’ll find in the Midwest. Being home to sport climbs ranging from 5.6-5.10 make this an excellent intro to outdoor climbing for beginners and a great relaxing crag day for more experienced climbers. Register at the Outdoor Adventure Center to join our knowledgeable staff on this exciting day trip!

Rock Climbing Devil's Lake

Devil's Lake State Park, WI
Join us for this top-rope rock climbing trip to Devil’s Lake state park and experience some of the best climbing the Midwest has to offer! Consisting of “bulletproof” quartzite, the bluffs and cliffs of Devil’s Lake State Park make it a famous attraction for hikers and climbers alike. Register for this weekend trip to climb on some of the oldest and most popular established climbs in the Midwest!

Rock Climbing Horseshoe Canyon Ranch

Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, AR
Take a long weekend to the one-and-only Horseshoe Canyon Ranch! Home to the renowned “24 Hours of Horseshoe Hell” climbing competition, HCR is a climbing mecca offering countless opportunities for brand new climbers and experts alike. This horseshoe shaped canyon boasts 500+ climbing routes, none of which are more than a short hike apart. Trip south with UREC Outdoors to this spectacular sandstone climbing area nestled in the Arkansas backwoods and don’t forget your camera!

Backpacking Lake Superior

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, MI
Welcome to the fall trip you’ll never forget! Join UREC Outdoors as we backpack Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore following the sea cliffs along the south shore of Lake Superior. Experience the abundant fall colors and stand on top of dramatic sandstone cliffs overlooking the lake on this three day journey along the shore of the largest of the great lakes. Make sure you bring your camera and document the unique formations along the route like Grand Portal, Miner’s Castle, Chapel Rock, and more!

Fall Break: Backpack Buffalo River Trail

Buffalo National River, AR
Take an adventure over your fall break this year! Join this backpacking trip to the Buffalo River Trail along the Buffalo National Scenic River in Arkansas to see tall sandstone bluffs, beautiful riverways, and majestic vistas as we hike above the bluffs and next to the river on this 5-day break trip!
