Course Description

One of the most important aspects of any treatment is maintaining commitment to the treatment, and this is true for clients and clinicians. Staying engaged over time can be incredibly difficult due to a number of factors. In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), we call these factors Therapy Interfering Behaviors (TIBs) that can be done by the client and the therapist. In this training we will take a unique look at TIBs that frequently surface in each mode of comprehensive DBT and present strategies to effectively address TIBs to increase effective delivery of the treatment. This training will be a combination of didactic and workshop structure with a lot of opportunities for group discussion.
