Course Description

This highly interactive one-day training facilitated by two ASAM Criteria experts provides a comprehensive overview of the major updates in the Fourth Edition of The ASAM Criteria. We will cover new assessment and treatment planning standards, updates to the continuum of care, Dimensional Admission Criteria, level of care determination rules, Transition and Continued Service Criteria, and treatment planning.

This training includes hands-on practice applying the new criteria to patient case scenarios. This approach will guide practitioners in making objective decisions about level of care recommendations and treatment planning for patients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. This low-risk, high-engagement training incorporates breakout sessions, brain breaks, group discussions, polls, games, and more. A thorough, resource-rich training workbook complements learning for all participants. The training day is 8 hours with two 15-minute breaks and thirty minutes for a lunch break.
