Our biodiversity graduate certificates are offered 100% online and delivered through the UW Extended Campus.


Wondering if our certificates are right for you? Relevant careers include geospatial analysts, environmental scientists, outreach specialists or conservation managers and leaders.

9 Credits

Each certificate consists of three, three-credit courses. You can move through the certificates at your own pace. On average, students can complete a certificate in as little as 9 months.


Like our graduate program, the certificate is a flat fee of $750 per credit.


Gain targeted expertise in a particular area. Pursue these certificates to advance your career. Plus, if you choose to continue your education and complete our Master's in Biodiversity Conservation & Management, these certificates count toward the graduate degree.

What's a sturdy building without a strong foundation? This certificate gives you a broad overview of the principles and practices of conservation, as well as the skills and knowledge necessary to make meaningful contributions to the field.
